Are We Getting a ‘Moon Knight’ Season 2?
Despite the fact that Marvel Studios has produced some of the biggest hits that Disney+ has, only one live-action series has ever been renewed for a second season — Loki.
With WandaVision officially over after just one season (though a spin-off titled Agatha is on the way) and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s story continuing in the movies Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, the pool of shows that could get a second season has narrowed.
Of the remaining MCU streaming series, the most likely show to get a second season would likely be Moon Knight (although Ms. Marvel could easily also return).
Season 1 of the streaming series introduced audiences to Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight. The series “follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc.”
Is Marvel Hinting at ‘Moon Knight’ Season 2
Perhaps the biggest hint that Moon Knight could return for a second season is the upcoming Blu-Ray steel book release of the show. As opposed to WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which were both labeled as “The Complete Series,” the upcoming Moon Knight release is titled “Moon Knight: The Complete First Season.” So, is this an indication that more Moon Knight is on the way?
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Moon Knight costume designer Meghan Kasperlik was asked about a possible Moon Knight Season 2. Here is what she had to say:
“No, people have been asking me and maybe that’s why, because of “The Complete First Season” of the Blu-Ray, but no, I’ve heard nothing. I’ve heard nothing about it.”
While Kasperlik may be out of the loop, should Moon Knight return for a second season, the costume designer would love to be involved.
“I think it all depends on what the story would be. Because so many times when shows say that they’re only doing one season or whatnot, then they come back, something about the story changes so much or a new character is incorporated that is not maybe necessarily thought of. Listen, if they do a season 2, I am on board. I loved it so much, but I haven’t gotten any phone calls,” she said.
Hopefully, we will see Steven Grant and Marc Spector again soon.
