Orlando International Airport Sets Its Sights on Another Onsite Hotel
Now that Terminal C has officially opened at the Orlando International Airport, it looks like the the airport is setting its sights on bringing another onsite hotel into the mix.
According to a recent piece in the Orlando Business Journal, the Orlando International Airport and Orlando Executive Airport approved a request for proposals for hotel development consulting services on January 18, 2023.
The proposed bid is for consultants to look into the possibility of a hotel near or within Terminal C. As the Orlando Business Journal tells us, the study will look into demand for another Orlando International Airport hotel and how long it would take for the property to be profitable.
We know that the bid will be released on February 12th and awarded on May 17, 2023. Orlando Airport has a vacant field across from Terminal C parking garage. This location would have access to both the terminal and the station being built for the Brightline high-speed railroad.
As you know, Orlando International Airport is currently home to the 445-room Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport in the north terminal. With travel and tourism returning to Orlando post-pandemic and 50 million people having traveled through the airport in 2022 alone, it would definitely appear that demand would be there for another onsite hotel.
