Our First Look ABOARD the Disney Wish PLUS Win a Chance to Set Sail on This Much-Anticipated Ship!
What an exciting morning it was on Good Morning America this morning! Correspondent, Janai Norman AKA “Ship Builder,” was live from the Meyer Werft shipbuilding yard in Papenburg, Germany to give us our first look aboard the much-anticipated Disney Wish!
While we have seen a lot of content featuring the outside of the ship, including the official “float out” from last month, we finally got to see the immersive spaces Guests will be able to enjoy once aboard the Disney Wish.
During the segment, Janai gives us a a look in the immersive Frozen and Marvel-themed dining rooms and interviews the Portfolio Project Management Executive for Walt Disney Imgineering Germany, Philip Gennotte.
With construction still well underway onboard the Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line was able to magically teleport Janai and us viewers over to a nearby building where full-scale mock-ups have been created to give everyone working on these areas a real-life sense of what these area will look like once completed.
During the tour, Janai also stopped for a quick interview with Claire Weiss, Principle Designer and Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering Germany to see what one of her favorite design elements used aboard the Disney Wish is. She responded with the 800 miles of fiber optic lights that will be used throughout the ship to give an extra dose of light – and magic!
We’re partnering with @DisneyCruise to make your family vacation wish come true aboard the enchanting all-new #DisneyWish!

One of the most exciting areas coming to the Disney Wish is the Grand Hall. This transformative space will be the first area Guests lie their yets on when stepping onboard. It will also be home to select entertainment options and can even serve as a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding venue!
Here is a photo of Philip giving us a peak behind the curtain to show us how this area is coming together:
Even though not fully complete, it was super cool to be aboard the Disney Wish with Janai and see all these magical spaces take shape. And, it’s always a great way to start the day with a visit from Mickey and Minnie!
