Cast Member Tips On Having a Magical Disney World Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ve shared several suggestions on how to celebrate at Walt Disney World. But know we’re changing it up a bit, because who better to tell you the best way to celebrate Valentine’s than the cast members themselves!? So if you’ll be at Disney World this weekend, here are some pointers to enhance your visit.
Capture Your Moment
Preserve your day of romance and bring home one-of-a-kind keepsakes with a bit off help from Disney’s incredible PhotoPass photographers. If you were following along with us earlier this week, you may have seen our piece on a new offering Capture Your Moment where you can pre-book a personalized 20-minute photo session with a PhotoPass photographers. This service is available at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. The service will be unveiled at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios at some point in the near future.
Peter Royland, a PhotoPass photographer with Disney had this to say about the unique role he plays in guests lives, “I have some families who started off with a proposal photoshoot and have kept coming back to celebrate other life events like their honeymoon, anniversary, pregnancy announcements, gender reveals, and of course, their children’s first trip to Disney. It’s amazing when that happens and I love being able to be a part of it.”
Delectable Desserts
Next we head over to Disney’s Riviera Resort where Pastry Chef Lexy stresses the importance of a delicious sweet treat! She said that she loves a challenge and her background in art helps her come up with creative concepts that are delicious as well.
Some of Lexy’s most recent triumphs in the kitchen includes the “bee mine” dessert as well as a mini dessert chocolate box with a brownie bite, macaron and chocolate-covered strawberry. All of this was cased within an edible chocolate shell. Sounds pretty amazing right!? Lex said, “I always like to take my desserts to the next level visually and it’s really exciting to see guests’ first reactions to them.”
To try out Lexy’s “bee mine” dessert while enjoying the incredible views at Topolino’s Terrace at Flavors of the Riviera. Another great Riviera Spot is Le Petit Cafe to pick up one of the mini chocolate boxes we spoke about above.
Chocolate Treats
The Ganachery at Disney Springs is an incredible place to go to really dazzle your Valentine with incredible confectionary treats! This is the place to go for custom-blended dark and milk chocolate ganache.
Sheila Molten is an expert Chocolatier at the Ganachery where she’s seen many a holiday or momentous occasion. She said of the experience of working at The Ganachery, “I love interacting with our guests and making this experience one where they’ll want to come back,” she shared. “I like to ask guests where they’re from, what they’re celebrating and how they’re celebrating to see if I can make it extra special. And they really enjoy hearing the story behind how each chocolate piece was made or where each sparkling wine came from and why it was hand-picked with love.”
In-Room Delivery
Did you know that you can have amazing floral arrangements, sweet treats and more delivered right to your Walt Disney World Resort room? Cast members at Disney Floral & Gifts have the perfect gift for any occasion from a first birthday to a romantic holiday.
“When you show a guest their surprise or gift, they get so excited – those are the really fun and rewarding moments,” Laura Kidd, Disney Floral Event Manager, said. “And knowing it’s the whole team, not just any one of us that helped make this special moment happen makes it even sweeter.”
Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Disney’s Fort Wilderness and Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts offer horse-drawn carriage rides. You’ll find your cares and worries drift away to the gentle sound of hoof steps or the cozy carriage strolling along the riverbanks and waterways of Walt Disney World.
“They’re a great way for our guests to unplug and enjoy the beautiful scenery,” Sarah Toth, Ranch Hand at Tri-Circle-D-Ranch, says, “I love being part of our guest’s special moments and seeing the smiles on their faces when I recommend fun things for them to do in the parks and resorts or educate them on our amazing horses.”
Date Night at Disney Springs
If you’re interested in a night on the town, look no further than a Valentine’s Day outing to Disney Springs. Recommendations from Emma Martin, Digital Marketing & Social Media Manager at Disney Springs includes delicious and romantic dining, particularly the patios at both the Boathouse or Paddlefish. You can soar to new heights with an Aerophile balloon (try sunset for an extra romantic touch.) Also, let’s not forget that Cirque du Soleil’s brand new Disney-inspired show Drawn To Live has performances several times a week at their theater on the West End of Disney Springs.
If you want to do something out of the ordinary then be sure to check out the Amphicar rentals at the Boathouse. What’s not to love about a classic convertible car that becomes a boat!
