The Best Disney Chips and Guac for the Super Bowl
8 million pounds of guacamole will get piled onto 14,500 tons of chips on Super Bowl Sunday. Yes, you read that correctly. Chips and guac are crushing the competition when it comes to America’s favorite Super Bowl foods!
The crunchy and creamy texture contrast is second only to the salty and savory flavor combo in this chip/dip combo. The question should not be if you eat chips and guacamole during the big game, but “where in Walt Disney World can I find the best?” Let’s find out!
Where to Eat
La Cantina de San Angel
If your dreams of sitting in front of a massive TV for the duration of the Super Bowl have been squashed by your family’s desire to hit the Parks (I’m taking directly to you, dads), all hope of a great gameday is not lost!
Even if your way of watching the game entails scoring updates via the NFL app, you can (and should) still find fantastic gameday food in each of the Parks!
My top pick is the chips and guacamole from La Cantina de San Angel in Epcot. Dipping chips in guacamole is that much better when the chips are house-made!
The guac here is full of chunks if you’re into that, but also boasts plenty of smooth creaminess if you’re like me and want to avoid those onions.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn
Here you leave today and enter the worlds of yesterday, tomorrow, and FREE GUACAMOLE! If you’re in Magic Kingdom on Super Bowl Sunday, head to this oasis in Frontierland where the chips are warm, and the guac is bottomless.
Pecos Bills’ biggest draw is its longstanding free toppings bar, meaning guacamole is far from the only topping you can add to your order of tortilla chips! If you like a little heat like I do, don’t shy away from the jalepeños!
Frontera Cocina
If you’re looking for a twist on the classic guacamole, Frontera Cocina is the place to go. They’ve got two options for you to choose from, and both are as eclectic as they are palatially intriguing. The ‘verde’ option is most similar to the classic, as roasted poblanos are the only derivative from the original.
The ‘mango’ version though, is where it gets interesting! The sweetness from chunks of mango contrast nicely with the sprinkling of sweet Tajin. The savory/sweet contrast between the avocado and the fresh and sweet mango is apparent in every bite, and is only enhanced by the crunch of the salty chips!
Where to Eat AND Watch
Paradiso 37
It’s fresh, it’s creamy, and features a consistent, no-chunks texture throughout. Add in the fact that the Hass avocados, tomato, chopped Serranos, red onion, and lime juice were all cut and blended together from scratch and in-house, and you’ve got what just might be the tastiest guac on all of Disney Property! Plus, the indoor bar features plenty of large TV’s perfect for watching the game while you dig into your guac!
