Pixar Releases ‘Monsters Inc.’ Silent Film Style Short for 20th Anniversary
It is hard to believe that one of Pixar’s most beloved and successful film franchises was first released to the public over two decades ago; in celebration of this, fans got a brand new Monsters Inc. silent film style short!
The short comes just as Disney fans are preparing for this weekend’s Disney+ Day; a day that will no doubt feature a celebration of the success already achieved, and still to come, for Disney’s streaming service.
What has undoubtedly been a part of Disney+ is the success of one of its newest series, the well-received Monsters at Work!
The series follows the adventures that began for Mike and Sully in Monsters Inc.; adventures that continued to be told in the subsequent prequel film Monsters University.
The Monsters Inc. universe has been one of Pixar’s most beloved and has been a dominant property for the studio since its debut 20 years ago.
To add to this celebration, Pixar has released a brand new Monsters Inc. silent film style short that shows two of our favorite scare duos Mike and Sully unlike they’ve ever been shown.
It’s scarin’ time!

The short mirrors the style of many classic, Walt Disney animated films that began the iconic status of characters like Micky Mouse himself.
The short, in itself, operate as an homage to both classic Walt Disney animation that birthed the legacy of Disney films, and the Monsters Inc. characters that have been a part of our lives for the past 20 years.
It will be interesting to see what else is in store for Disney+ Day, and if there will be another monster related; considering the time frame of the film’s anniversary.
For now, the brand new short is plenty to get fans excited for Monsters At Work, and to pay homage to this classic Pixar masterpiece that preceded so many incredible series and films from the studio.
