Baby Rhino Mylo Delights Animal Care Team
With so many new baby animals arriving each month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the endless joy continues to burst from the habitats behind the scenes at the Walt Disney World Resort theme park. Yesterday, the rhino care team shared an adorable video of baby Mylo, who joined the crash two months ago, playing in his space.
The post not only showed the darling baby but also introduced his name to the world. Within the video, the team also teased that Mylo could make his debut on the Kilimanjaro Safari soon.
A white rhinoceros, Mylo was born on Sept. 8th as the first child to mother, Jao. Mylo has gained 100 pounds since Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment last posted an update, according to yesterday’s post. He now weighs 288 pounds.
Mylo has a half-brother named Ranger who was born just over a year ago. He joined the savanna habitat officially in February of this year.
Just last week, Disney’s Animal Kingdom cheered the arrival of another white rhino. This time, mother Lola carried the calf. The three babies animals born at the unique theme park are bred as part of the Species Survial Plans, an effort by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to help endangered species to survive.
