GoFundMe Created for Widow of Gerry York, Disneyland Cast Member
A GoFundMe has been created in honor of Gerry York, a Disneyland Cast Member of over 33 years, to help his widow and young daughter, Charlotte, in this unexpected, dreadful time.
Throughout his time at the Disneyland Resort, Gerry worked as an attractions host on numerous different attractions but found his home and passion on the world-famous Jungle Cruise.
He spent over 20 years in this location as not just a skipper, but also a trainer, mentor and lead for all of the cast members who had the honor of working alongside him.
Milenda Andrews, who created the GoFundMe for Gerry’s wife, Michelle, shares that Gerry was “enigmatic and had perfected the art of leaving people wanting more… more of his jokes, more of his infinite knowledge”.
She goes on to say
His existence was proof that many lives can be impacted by seemingly small acts of kindness and generosity.
Andrews recalls happy memories, including family holidays together with Gerry and always losing to him at “every version of trivial pursuit”.
A Facebook page has been set up to honor Gerry and for those around him to share wonderful memories surrounding him for their daughter, Charlotte.
It is intended for Charlotte, now 2 years of age, to be able to look back when she is older and “see how special her daddy was to so many people outside of his family”.
You can contribute to the GoFundMe through this link and share any memories of Gerry on this Facebook group, named For Charlotte.
Our heart goes out to Michelle and little Charlotte; may you rest in peace, Gerry.
