New LEGO Star Wars Horror Special Coming to Disney+ This Halloween
A brand-new, horror-themed LEGO Star Wars special has been announced for Disney+, and it’ll arrive just in time for Halloween.
LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales – a horror special featuring everyone’s favorite intergalactic Minifigures – will arrive exclusively on the streaming platform on October 1st. It looks set to be another brilliant collaboration between LEGO and Lucasfilm, and we can’t wait to see what spooky stories they have in store.
A creepy new poster has been revealed, with the title ‘Terrifying Tales’ printed in a blood-curdling red. A red lightsaber – could it be Darth Vader? – has emerged from a gravestone depicting the Sith Logo.
The gravestone also features the chilling epitaph “Rest In Pieces”. Get it?
According to StarWars.com, the storyline of the series is as follows…
After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe Dameron and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. The crime boss has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé. Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.
As well as these plot details, a cast and crew have also been announced for the special. Jake Green, Raphael Alejandro, Dana Snyder, Tony Hale, Christian Slater, Trevor Devall and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn will all lend their voices to the characters, while Ken Cunningham will direct.
James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jaqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert, Keith Malone, Jason Cosler and David Shayne will all serve as executive producers, with the latter also the writer on the project.
This isn’t the first seasonal adventure on Disney+ for LEGO Star Wars, as a festive holiday special also landed on the streaming service last November. We wonder if other holidays will be commemorated by the Sith and Jedi in the future, too?
We can’t wait to watch LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales when it premieres later this year!
