Disney Dreamers Academy Returns in 2022
Walt Disney’s commitment to inspiring all people to dream and do certainly lies at the heart of the Disney Dreamers Academy. The program invites 100 students annually to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for an inpsiring week of programming. After spending the pandemic virtually, the 2022 session of Dreamers returns to the parks March 3rd through the 6th.
This incredibly popular program includes high school students from across the nation. Not only do participants receive a fully-paid trip to the “most magical place on Earth,” but they also participate in a wealth on invigorating programming.
Coursework specifically hopes to “inspire young leaders to dream beyond their imaginations and jump-start their life goals,” according to Disney Parks Blog.
This year marks a special moment for the program as well. Disney Dreamers celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
So far, the academy welcomed 1,300 students to Walt Disney World. The lucky few spend their days immersed in hands-on career work that represents that enormous variety of professional jobs that exist within the Walt Disney Co. This year’s programming includes foci on animation, entrepreneurship, journalism, culinary arts, and even zoology.
Soft skills like leadership, communication and networking dominate session goals. Most students also remember the incredible celebrity guest and Disney cast members that pop in throughout the week. In the past, NBA Legend Magic Johnson and singer NE-YO spoke with the group. Also, Halle Bailey popped in during recent years. She now prepares to star in Disney’s live-action version of the classic animated film “Little Mermaid.”
Appliations for this year’s Disney Dreamer program went live last week. Applicants should visit this site before Halloween. To apply, a person must live in the United States, be currently enrolled in a high school program, and be between 13 and 18 years of age.
