Check Out Some of the Incredible Christmas Trees You’ll Find At Disney World’s DVC Properties
From the moment you set foot on one of DVC’s incredible Disney World properties you are told, “Welcome Home” and the homey feel of your stay extends throughout your visit in delightful little touches. The holidays are a great example of DVC being your home away from home especially when it comes to the incredible decor you’ll find each season.
So let’s play a little guessing game this Sunday morning shall we. We’ll show you some holiday ornaments and let’s see if you can guess what DVC property we’ll find them at.
HINT: You’ll find this ornament of musical merriment in a resort with two lobbies.
This resort is divided between two building. Both are named after non-English words. One means “welcome” and the other “necklace.” Need another hint?
The resort also features a popular restaurant that is named for a word meaning “art.” We’ll give you one more. All of the guest rooms in this stunning property are decorated with uniquely carved wooden shields.

You’ll find this ornament on one of the positively stunning trees at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The tree in the Jambo House lobby features many ornaments inspired by African musical instruments! And when it comes to our hints above “Jambo” means “welcome” and Kidani “necklace” in Swahili!
If you’ve ever eaten at Sanaa you know that the dishes there are a work of art and that’s exactly what Sanaa means in Swahili – “art”. If you stay at Animal Kingdom you’ll notice that African shields adorn the doors at each of the guest rooms!
HINT: An eagle and a raven watch over this owl.
As you try and guess where this lovely ornament can be found, we’ve got a few hints to help you. The lobby of this DVC resort includes a big nod to the Grand Canyon. This absolutely stunning retreat also has one check-in lobby but includes two distinctly named DVC properties.
Need another clue? One of the DVC properties found here had a name change back in 2017. And last but not least, the grizzly factors prominently into the decor, name and theming of this property.

This ornament is one of the many delightful woodland creatures you’ll find adorning the trees at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. There are many striking details found in the resort’s grand lobby including towering totem poles which are topped by eagles and ravens. For the Grand Canyon clue, the stonework in the lobby fireplace is actually modelled after the layers of rock found at the Grand Canyon.
There are indeed two distinct properties at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. Before 2017, Boulder Ride was simply called The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.” For those lucky enough to be staying in on of the Cascade Cabins, you’ll notice bear-shaped love items in the room’s decor. these were modelled after the totems given to Kenai in the Disney film Brother Bear.
Where can you find this jolly jockey?
Here are a few hints to help you on your way. One of the world’s favorite savory treats was created in the town that serves as the inspiration for this DVC property. Some of the guest rooms here have a second story but not a first.
This resort actually includes buildings that used to serve as actual classrooms. Ideal for Disney foodies, you’ll find more than 30 restaurants located within walking distance of the resort. This property also has the distinction of being the largest of all DVC properties.

The race horse perfectly represents the racetrack vibes of Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. In case you didn’t know, Potato chips were actually invented in Saratoga Springs, NY. The resort features Treehouse Villas that offer single-level accommodations but perched a story above the forest floor.
Some of the buildings found here used to make up the campus of the now defunct Disney Institute campus. The resort also has a walking bridge over to Disney Springs – Walt Disney World’s downtown shopping district where you can enjoy a wide array of delicious Disney cuisine.
HINT: This merry merman hangs on a Christmas tree that sits beside a train.
Now for my favorite ornament out of the bunch and one of my favorite DVC properties. For those needing a hint or two, this property changed its name back in 1996.
The bar located on property has a name that gives a tip-of-the-hat to smuggling!? When dining at the table service restaurant at the resort, your evening begins with a look at the family album. The property also features a coastal castle.

Merman Santa can be found among the many incredible mermaids and mermen ornaments at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. You’ll find this tree near the scale model of the Florida East Coast Railway. Before 1996, this resort was simply referred to as the OG “Disney Vacation Club Resort.”
The Gurgling Suitcase is the name of the bar found on property. This name actually references how Cuban Rum was illegally brought to Key West in tourists’ suitcases. The entrance to Olivia’s also features a gallery of member photos and is lovingly referred to as the DVC Family Album. And finally, the resort’s pool features waterslide complete with oversized sand castle!
