Helpful Hints for Wearing Your Mask on Your Next Disney Vacation
If you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation, don’t forget that masks are as much of a necessity as comfortable shoes. That’s why, thanks to the great people over at planDisney, we would love to share some helpful hints on mask wearing during your Disney vacation!
Mask Tip #1: Bring More Than One For Each Guest
Both Lauren and Samantha of planDisney agree, having more than one mask for each member in your party is one helpful hint to those going on a Walt Disney World vacation.
Lauren says that her family members like to be able to select their mask for the day whether that be a solid color or one with a cool pattern. shopDisney is a great place to check out the latest Disney Masks available that have themes featuring your favorite Disney characters, attractions, and more.
In addition, Samantha advises to try out a variety of masks doing errands while you are still at home to find out the best one that works for you.
Mask Tip #2: Bring Detergent to Wash Masks at Disney
Lauren says, “I washed everyone’s (masks) in our sink and hung them to dry overnight. Having a fresh and clean mask for the start of your park day really helps.”
Mask Tip #3: Wear a Hat Instead of Sunglasses
plan Disney panelist, Besty, has another helpful hint for wearing a mask on your next Walt Disney World vacation. She discovered that wearing a hat is a better option than sunglasses. She said, “I get much better airflow to the rest of my face when I wear a hat with my mask AND I have less resting on my ears!”
Mask Tip #4: Schedule Several Snack and Dining Breaks
To allow you and your children to take some breaks form their masks during your next Walt Disney World vacation, make sure to schedule several snack and dining breaks during your visit.
Kristin says having multiple breaks will allow your family to enjoy some of those delicious Disney snacks while temporarily removing your masks. Remember, eating and snacking is not permitted in queues and can only be done in select areas.
Also, try planning your Advanced Dining Reservations for lunch instead of dinner. Andrea H says, “Take a break AND give your feet a rest by enjoying that special meal midday instead of waiting until later. You’ll feel rejuvenated in so many ways!”
Mask Tips #5: Take Advantage of Relaxation Stations
This mask wearing helpful hint during your Disney vacation is one of my favorite! Each of the four Theme Parks offer several “relaxation stations” where you can remove your mask safely.
Aena from planDisney says, “They are wonderful! And there are indoor and outdoor relaxation stations to suite everyone’s preferences.”
Mask Tips #6: Tips for the Little Guests
Let’s face it, children and mask wearing at Walt Disney World don’t go hand and hand! (I can personally relate as I just had my four year old there a few months ago.) However, they are required for all Guests 2 and older unless they are swimming or actively eating or drinking in approved areas.
To make masks a little easier for the littlest Guests, a great helpful hint is to have them practice wearing them on errands before your Disney vacation begins. Make sure they wear them as the leave the house and the entire time until you return back home.
And, encouragement is also a great help! You can also play games to take their mind of their make or maybe even make the promise of a special treat (Mickey Bar!) at the end of the day if they keep their mask on.
Hopeful this mask wearing helpful hints are just what you need to have an even extra magical Walt Disney World vacation. I can personally say that after spending 10 days in the Parks earlier this year in extreme hear and humidity, it really isn’t that bad!
