‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Had an Even Bigger Opening Weekend Than First Reported
Yesterday we brought you the news that Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine had a record-breaking opening weekend with a $205 million haul at the domestic box office.
As it turns out, the film actually surpassed that number and brought in $211 million in domestic theaters. In total, the film grossed $444 million at the global box office in its first weekend.

That total gave Deadpool & Wolverine the highest-grossing global opening ever for an R-rated film. Ironically enough, the film beat out the first Deadpool ($363 million) to claim the record.
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Had the Sixth-Best Opening Ever
Domestically, Deadpool & Wolverine also shattered the record for an R-rated movie and delivered the 6th highest-grossing opening of all time.

With $211 million, the third Deadpool installment beat Jurassic World’s $208 million debut for the sixth-best opening ever. Only Avengers: Endgame ($357.1 million), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($260.1 million), Avengers: Infinity War ($257.6 million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247.9 million), and Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220 million) had better debuts.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s massive opening weekend was the best ever for a July film. Additionally, the film had the biggest opening since 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Another Disney Blockbuster
With strong reviews from critics and outstanding audience scores, Deadpool & Wolverine should keep the momentum going.
