Elizabeth Carpenter, who worked as an accountant technician at the resort, has pled guilty to one count of theft of government property earlier this week, according to court filings obtained by FOX 35.
Carpenter Issued Fake Refunds to Personal Credit Cards
Carpenter is accused of using her role as an employee with the Department of Defense to “access guest accounts to refund a portion of guests’ room payments to the defendant’s personal credit card accounts.”

Carpenter accessed a government-utilized computer without authorization. According to authorities, she allegedly completed the refund process 652 times. As her scheme continued, she eventually increased how much money she was refunding to herself.
Carpenter Pled Guilty
In lieu of an indictment, Carpenter chose to enter a plea of guilty to one count of theft of government property. The court has yet to accept the plea.
