Atmosphere
The restaurant is on the second floor, near the Tambu Lounge and the monorail entrance. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you find the archways with ornate geometric designs.

Walking in, the interior of the restaurant immerses you. From the rock walls donned with flower petals to the murals on the walls and ceilings, the entire restaurant is filled with Polynesian charm.

Kona Cafe Decor
We talked to a Cast Member who confirmed that Kona Cafe is themed to Te Fiti, the island goddess in Moana.
Almost every piece of decor represents Polynesian culture. From the blue tiles themed to water to the colors of the flower petals…even the ceiling was designed by a tattoo artist to fully encompass Hawaiian influences!

Kona Cafe’s New Menu Items
While a lot of Kona Cafe’s menu is the same, there are some new menu items we had to try — the Hamachi Tuna Roll, the Hawaiian Reuben, and the Molten Chocolate Cake.

But first, we had to start with the table bread. It is absolutely delicious!
These rolls are super soft and fluffy — the perfect way to start a meal.

Hamachi Tuna Roll
We decided to start with this new menu item, the Hamachi Tuna Roll. This sushi roll contains hamachi, tuna, avocado, jalapeno, cilantro, and ponzu.

Hamachi Tuna Roll
We thought that the roll itself was very good. You have five pieces in each roll, making it an easy appetizer to split with someone.
The sushi pieces are well-contained and smaller, so you can enjoy the entire piece in one bite.

Hamachi Tuna Roll
The sour sauce was an added bonus and a delicious accompaniment to our sushi roll.
For $21, this was an overall delicious appetizer despite the smaller size.

Hawaiian Reuben
Reuben sandwiches are so delicious, no matter where you’re eating. The Hawaiian Reuben, available for $20, is no different!
This hearty sandwich has corned beef, pulled pork, kimchi, Swiss cheese, and spicy mayonnaise sandwiched between two slices of marble rye.

Hawaiian Reuben Sandwich
The sandwich is great! Honestly, it is so large and filling that it could be shared.
Admittedly, this handheld fell short of the ‘handheld’ mark because it fell apart very easily. So, make sure you have a fork ready!

Hawaiian Reuben
Our favorite was the pulled pork. It was absolutely cooked perfectly, which is what we expect from a Polynesian-themed restaurant.
We paired this sandwich with french fries, which were seasoned and more flavorful than traditional Disney World fries.

Molten Chocolate Cake
To end our meal, we indulged in the molten chocolate cake, available for $10.
This cake has Valrhona espresso ganache, Kona Coffee ganache, and a caramel latte anglaise.

Molten Lava Cake
While this researcher was not the biggest fan of coffee, they were pleasantly surprised that the ganache and cake had subtle coffee flavors.
The ‘lava’ of the cake is thick and gooey, like a hot fudge. Yum!

Molten Chocolate Cake
We loved the sweet and salty flavor combinations of this cake. To us, it tastes like a dark chocolate fudge paired with a light sea salt.
It was the perfect way to finish our meal at Kona Cafe, and it was, by far, our favorite new menu item.
