Ernie Hudson to Star in an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Horror Movie
The unfortunate trend of capitalizing on Disney characters entering the public domain by making horror films with iconic characters will continue with Oswald Down the Rabbit Hole.
Unlike other low-budge films such as Mickey’s Mouse Trap or Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, however, the upcoming Oswald film will have some star power.
‘Ghostbuster’s’ Ernie Hudson To Star in the Film
Ernie Hudson, who just reprised his role as Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, has agreed to star in the upcoming horror film.
“I am excited to work with everyone on this production,” Hudson said. “It’s an incredibly creative and smart project.”
Hudson is set to play Oswald Jebediah Coleman, a brilliant animator who is cast away to a “bone-chilling magical prison.”
‘Down the Rabbit Hole’
The film will follow the story of Coleman’s grandchildren, Art and Evan, who go on a journey to track down their family lineage. As these things do, their quest quickly turns into a bloodcurdling nightmare when they are transported to a place lost in time and shrouded by dark Hollywood magic.
Oswald Down the Rabbit Hole will be directed by Lilton Stewart III and has a budget of roughly $4.5 million.
“I had a very specific vision for Oswald’s character. I wanted Ernie for this role from the start, as I’ve always admired the iconic cinematic legacy. Ernie is going to bring Oswald’s unique and vengeful spirit to life in the best way possible.”
At this time, Oswald Down the Rabbit Hole does not have a release date.
