Each month the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts serve up new and delicious morsels to eager guests. Now that May is well underway, it’s time to check out Disney’s Best Bites for May 2019.
A Very Merry Unbirthday Tea Party
Beginning on May 31, A Very Merry Unbirthday Tea Party will arrive for a limited-time at the Disneyland Hotel. Guests of any age are welcome to partake in a midday tea featuring a spread of treats and sweets themed after Disney’s classic, “Alice in Wonderland”.
The lineup includes fresh salad, scones, sandwiches, desserts, and teas inspired by some of the film’s most popular characters. Guests can check out the Disneyland Resort website for more information or talk to your travel agent.
Spaghetti Burger
The Sand Bar Lounge will be serving up a few new items this summer such as the Spaghetti Burger. A beef patty with mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomato spread, and arugula sandwiched between two “buns” made of fried spaghetti… wow!
Big Bites
Alongside the Spaghetti Burger, the Sand Bar Lounge will feature artisan pizzas and a Double B-L-T-A with crispy bacon, braised pork belly, butter lettuce, balsamic tomatoes, and creamy avocado on focaccia.
If you’re looking for something lighter, there will also be an Arugula Salad topped with a soft-poached egg.
A selection of tacos will work their way onto the menu including duck confit with caramelized onions, pork with pineapple salsa, and grilled shrimp with Sriracha aïoli.
Making your meal selection even more challenging will be the seafood ceviche, chicken drum sticks, chili-lime yuca fries, and the PBJ Burger Slider (featuring a plant-based patty, peanut butter, and blackberry jam on a toasted potato bun).
Confetti Dessert Nachos
Enjoy this sweet crunchy dish topped with whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles. If you’re craving the iconic churro, you can order a Churro Sundae with vanilla ice cream, wild berries, and whipped cream. Yum!
NEW Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Veggie Burger
Smokejumpers Grill at Disney California Adventure Park has some new additions to their menu. First up is a new Grilled Chicken Sandwich that comes with a juicy, herb-marinated grilled chicken breast, jack cheese and sundried-tomato sauce.
Also new is the Veggie Burger which features a grilled plant-based patty on a bun.
NEW Mediterranean Menu
At Paradise Garden Grill in DCA, guests can enjoy savory skewers with a choice of grilled steak, vegetable and tofu, spicy beef and lamb meatball, or lemon oregano chicken.
Skewers are served with cucumber salad, rice pilaf, and pita bread and a selection of sauces including Spicy Chili Sauce, Medium Chimichurri, and Mild Tzatziki.
There is also a Beef Gyro Platter and Greek Salad on the menu. The Greek Salad is constructed with fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, pepperoncini, olive, garbanzo beans, feta, and lemon-oregano dressing.
For dessert, you can try the baklava- phyllo dough stuffed with walnuts and dipped in orange-flower flavored syrup.
Carthay Circle Lounge
While the menu hasn’t changed, there is some new seating to enjoy over at Carthay Circle Lounge. A new street-level, outdoor patio allows you to take in the sights of Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Boulevard while enjoying something tasty from the menu.
Storybook Dining Appetizers
Artist Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has added two new dishes to the menu. First is a new appetizer – the Hunter’s Terrine. This dish comes with chicken, black truffle, and a sweet stone fruit preserve.
There’s also Bashful’s Butter-poached Kingklip, which comes with farro, fava beans, English peas, and gremolata. You can find this dish on the entrée list.
First up is the breakfast menu. The breakfast changes involve the kids menu which now includes CHocolate-Hazelnut Crépes served with fresh berry compote and whipped cream. THere’s also a Mickey-shaped Egg and Cheese dish served with Applewood-smoked bacon and fresh fruit.
For lunch, kids now have the choice of the new Feast a’ la Beast which is braised red wine chicken, bacon, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and sautéed green beans.
Lunch for adults now includes a few new options such as the Sweet Corn Bisque and Coque au Vin (larger potion of the Feast a’ al Beast). The Cannellini Bean Cassoulet consists of slow-cooked onions, red peppers, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, garlic, and thyme with white cannellini beans and toasted crostini served with a mixed spring salad.
The Tuna Nicoise Salad consists of seared ahi tuna, julienne roasted red peppers, haricot verts, grape tomatoes, roasted fingerling potatoes, kalamata olives, and a poached egg served with a red wine vinaigrette.
Also on the menu is a Citrus Poached Shrimp Salad topped with sliced gold beets, roasted red peppers, haricot verts, pickled shallots, grape tomatoes, and carrots with a red wine vinaigrette.
