Walt Disney World Files Permits for Magic Kingdom Expansion
“We are always opening up new doors and doing new things…we keep moving forward.”
Walt’s curiosity and desire to constantly progress are the foundation for the Walt Disney World Company and an element keeping the amazing theme parks evolving.
During a Walt Disney Imagineering showcase earlier this week, Imagineers confirmed that Disney will file water management and foundational permits in the next few weeks, marking the start of a large $60 billion expansion happening over the next decade.
Disney Expansion Coming Soon
This exciting news was just shared earlier today, and it looks like movement is happening.

The process of filing these permits for development work initiates the start of the large expansion behind Magic Kingdom, which has been teased about for years with no concrete information.
The project dubbed “Beyond Big Thunder” has included loose rumors and possibilities of new themed lands (including Encanto, Zootopia, and Villains-themed) potentially being built behind Big Thunder Mountain, but nothing had been confirmed.
No further details have been announced yet, but we will continue to monitor the story. Stay tuned with MickeyBlog to stay updated on this and all things Disney.
