‘Aladdin’ on Broadway Will Celebrate Its 10 Year Anniversary on Good Morning America
As hard as it is to believe, Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway has been performed for 10 years now at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
In honor of the anniversary, the cast of the Broadway musical will be joining Good Morning America on Friday, March 29 to celebrate the milestone! Fans can tune in at 7:00 am ET to catch the celebration!
The hit Broadway musical based on the Academy Award-winning animated film first opened on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014, after a short run in Seattle.
A Special Performance Will Take Place March 28
To celebrate the 10-year milestone, the musical has announced a very special performance on March 28. Aladdin’s Tony Award-winning director-choreographer Casey Nicholaw will hide Easter eggs throughout the show for eagle-eyed fans to discover. Additionally, fans are in for a mid-show surprise during “Friend Like Me.”
The current cast of Aladdin stars Michael Maliakel in the title role, Michael James Scott as Genie, Sonya Balsara as Jasmine, and Dennis Stowe as Jafar. Additional performers include Milo Alosi, Zach Bencal, and Brad Weinstock as Aladdin’s sidekicks Kassim, Babkak, and Omar, JC Montgomery as Sultan, and Don Darryl Rivera as Iago.
