The Lion King turns 30 this year, and Disney is ready to celebrate! We’re expecting LOTS of new Lion King-inspired merchandise in the coming months, but this adorable Zazu shoulder plush kicked things off this week.

Zazu isn’t the first of our tiny Disney friends to get the shoulder-plush treatment (we’ve previously seen Remy, Grogu, and Hei Hei versions, among others) – but he IS the very first we’ve seen of The Lion King‘s celebratory 30th-anniversary collection.

Our favorite high-strung hornbill has arrived in adorable plush form, and we are HERE for it!
Priced at $24.99, Zazu comes in his trademark colors of blue, orange, and yellow. He’s touchably soft and as perfect for cuddling as he is for perching on your shoulder.

To wear Zazu on your shoulder, just slide the magnetic pad under your shirt and affix the plush on top. Here’s a closer look at the instructions:

As Mufasa’s most trusted advisor, Zazu serves an important role in both the original animated version of The Lion King and the 2019 computer-animated remake, in which he was voiced by British writer and producer John Oliver.

It’s unclear whether Zazu will play a role in the upcoming prequel, The Lion King: Mufasa, which premiers in theaters on December 20, 2024.
