New Black Panther/Captain America Marvel Game Is Coming in 2025
Disney may have big plans to jump headfirst into the gaming sphere, but for now, the company will continue to license out its properties to other studios.
Following in the footsteps of Spider-Man 2, a new Marvel video game, 1943: Rise of Hydra, is set for a 2025 release.
The title is being developed by Sydance New Media and Marvel Game. It will focus on Captain America and Black Panther (King T’Chanda) during World War II.
‘1943: Rise of Hydra’ Was Built Using Epic Games’ Engine 5
Interestingly, the game was created using Epic Games’ 3D creation tool, Unreal Engine 5. Disney recently took a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games.
Written and directed by Amy Henning, 1943: Rise of Hydra allows characters to assume the role of one of four characters: King T’Chanda, the WWII-era Black Panther (played by Khary Payton), Steve Rogers/Captain America (Drew Moerlein), Nanali, a Wakandan spy stationed in occupied Paris (Megalyn Echikunwoke) or Gabriel Jones a member of the Howling Commandos (Marque Richardson).
Rounding out the game’s cast is Lyne Renee, who plays Julie, an ally in the French Resistance, and Joel Johnson as Howard Stark. According to Marvel, the game “captures the action, excitement, and globe-trotting adventure that has delighted fans for decades.”
1943: Rise of Hydra will feature original music from Grammy Award-winning composer Stephen Barton.
