The New Season of ‘Doctor Who’ Will Premiere Simultaneously on the BBC and Disney+
Doctor Who has a date with Disney+.
The upcoming season of the famed sci-fi series will be the first to debut since joining up with Disney.
On Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m. ET, Doctor Who will premiere simultaneously on both Disney+ and the BBC’s iPlayer. It will premiere on linear television the next day.
The release strategy will alleviate the fear of British fans of the show, who were concerned that viewers in other parts of the world would get to watch the premiere before they did.
Dr. Who is Back!
The new season of Dr. Who stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Fiftieth Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. The duo is once again set to travel across space and time in the Tradis for infinite adventures.
In addition to Gatwa and Gibson, the upcoming season of Doctor Who will star Aneurin Barnard, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Bonnie Langford, Genesis Lynea, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush, Indira Varma and Angela Wynter.
Doctor Who is produced by Bad Wold and BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC. Russell T Davies is serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
“At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together. Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second!” Davies wrote.
The new season of Doctor Who will premiere on Disney+ on May 10.
