‘The Bear’ Has Been Renewed For Season 4, Will Film Back to Back With Season 3
Fans of The Bear got some good news today when Deadline reported that the Emmy-winning Hulu comedy has not only been renewed for a third season as previously reported but a fourth season has also been ordered.
Over the past week, reports out of Chicago speculated that more filming of The Bear was underway. The series has already finished its third season, which quickly led to speculation that a fourth had also been ordered.
The Bear has been a critical darling and a ratings hit for Hulu, but it has also made stars out of much of its cast. To keep the in-demand cast together, it looks like the streamer has opted to film Seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back.
A Critical Darling
The first season of The Bear won 10 Emmys, including for Outstanding Comedy and Outstanding Writing. Although the show’s second season aired last year, it was not eligible for the 75th Emmy Awards due to the Hollywood strikes.
Since its debut, the series has made Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Matty Matheson household names.
Previously, FX utilized a tactic similar to that of Atlanta. That series ended after shooting its Seasons 3 and 4 back to back.
Season 5 Remains a Possibility
According to sources, the future of The Bear beyond Season 4 has yet to be determined. A Season 5 remains a possibility.
For now, The Bear fans have at least two more seasons of the sitcom to look forward to.
