Disney Unearthed Classic Clock Photos From the Vault For Daylight Savings Time
With the advent of Daylight Savings Time just a few days away, Disney took the opportunity to dig into the archives and unearth a few timeless Disney clock photos.
As we get ready to usher in brighter evenings, what better way to spring forward than with our old Disney pals?!
Disneyland 1954-55
Let’s start off with this photo taken during the construction of Disneyland. As you can see, the park’s iconic Main Street USA train station clock was installed long before Disneyland welcomed its first guests.
At the time, the lock was newly installed. Now, millions upon millions of guests looked upon its face.
Disneyland 1970
A little over 15 years later, in 1970, Mickey Mouse assembled a crack team to change the clocks for Daylight Saving Time on Main Street, USA, in Disneyland.
Working together, the team comprised of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Baloo, and King Louie got the job done! What a squad.
Walt Disney World 1971
One year later, with the Magic Kingdom now open in Florida, Alice and the White Rabbit gathered in front of Cinderella Castle to remind guests about the very important date.
Luckily, the White Rabbit had a large Mickey Mouse alarm clock to help spread the word!
I hope you enjoyed this quick tour through Disney history as much as I did! I just love these old photos.
As we head into Daylight Savings Time this weekend, be ready to turn your clocks ahead one hour! The time change will be at 2:00 a.m. ET this Sunday!
