Colman Domingo Would Be Open To Assuming the Role of Kang in the MCU
While Marvel Studios is clearly planning on moving away from Kang the Conqueror now that Jonathan Majors will no longer be playing the character, the opportunity still exists for another actor to assume the role.
One name that has been thrown around as a possible Majors replacement is Colman Domingo.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the Rustin star revealed that while he has had talks about joining the MCU, he has not heard anything about playing Kang.
“You know, listen. My team has had conversations with Marvel about some aspect of the MCU for years,” Domingo answered. “Do I know this to be true or not? I actually don’t know. I feel like my team doesn’t bring me something unless it’s real. So I don’t know. I could be in conversation, but I’m not sure. I would welcome a conversation around it.”

Domingo Would Be Interested
While Domingo doesn’t believe that anything is close to happening, the actor would clearly be interested in entering the MCU.

“Whatever they’re working out with Jonathan [Majors] and his legacy in the MCU, I feel like I just have to be in my own lane, whatever that is. There’s hearsay, there’s conversations, but I’m not even sure because I feel like nothing comes to me until something’s real. But I’d be down with it.”
Will We See Kang Again?
Following early reports that Marvel will rename Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and the studio was already planning on moving away from the character after the disappointment of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, the role of Kang may not be as important as it once was.

Still, if Marvel wants to keep the MCU’s larger narrative intact, it would be wise to recast the role of Kang and give the character some kind of satisfactory ending.
