We May Finally Know When ‘The Acolyte’ Will Premiere on Disney+
Star Wars fans will finally get a chance to see the High Republic appear on screen when The Acolyte arrives on Disney+ on June 5, 2024.
The upcoming live-action series will be set roughly 100 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and tell the story of the emerging Sith and their struggle against the Jedi Order.

A New Take on the Familiar Star Wars Story
According to showrunner Leslye Headland, The Acolyte will take the traditional Star Wars troupe of rebels against the empire and flip it on its head.
In the series, the Jedi Order will be at the height of their power, although they may not be the heroes of the story.

“I think Star Wars is always about some version of the underdog versus the institution. And I just thought it was very interesting to do a show about the bad guys,” said showrunner Leslye Headland. “It’s almost flipped. We have more Jedi than you’ve seen in any of the Star Wars content. But, at the same time, I think you see more morally ambiguous characters.”
As Star Wars explores a new era of galactic history, the franchise will tell a story it has never told before. That of a young Sith apprentice.
“What makes this show different and interesting is it’s from the perspective of the bad guys or the villains of Star Wars,” Headland said. “These are people who are using the Force in their own way. They are dipping into the darker sides of the Force. And they are doing it without being sanctioned by the larger institution which in this case is the Jedi.”
When Will ‘The Acolyte’ Premiere
While Disney has yet to confirm when The Acolyte will finally land on Disney+, according to Collider, the series will premiere on June 5, 2024.
That date would put the new live-action series’ debut about a month after the final episodes of The Bad Batch.
