NEWS: Disneyland Resort Is Updating Their Entryways!
Is there anything more exciting than passing through the entry gates at the Disneyland Resort? It marks the beginning of (or return to) an exciting day, full of magic and fun!
Disneyland’s iconic entryways have remained mostly unchanged over the years, but that’s about to change. Let’s check out the updates the resort is planning to make to its entryways!
Updates
Disneyland Resort will undergo a major overhaul later this year, updating the entry gates at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Scott Gustin announced the news on X:
NEW: Starting later this year, Disneyland Resort will begin work to construct new, updated entry gates at the entryways to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The update will include adding additional gates and making the gates stroller and ADA accessible. pic.twitter.com/2urd6EHDhk

The updates will include adding more gates (a much-needed addition, in our opinion) and making the gates stroller and ADA accessible. (If you’ve ever tried to push a double stroller through the entry gate, you’ll understand why we’re celebrating this news.) The updates are expected to match what exists at Disneyland Paris. These gates will be automated–opening after a Cast Member scans and validates a ticket.
The new gates are expected to be similar to the entry gates at Disneyland Paris and will be automated to open after a Cast Member scans and validates the guest’s theme park ticket.

Currently, the Cast Member scans the ticket, and the guest has to manually push through the turnstile. If a stroller or wheelchair needs to enter the gate, the Cast Member must open it themselves.
We’re hoping these additions add to accessibility around the park, and make the entrances less congested! We’ll keep you updated on the latest about this project, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
