Disney Takes Home 37 Wins at the 75th Emmy Awards
In case you haven’t heard, the 75th annual Emmy Awards took place last night, and once again, it was a big night for The Walt Disney Company.
Across its litany of studios and platforms, including ABC, Disney Branded Television, Disney+, Disney Television Studios (20th Television Animation, 20th Television, and ABC Signature), FX, FX Productions, Hulu, National Geographic, Onyx Collective, and The Walt Disney Studios (20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., and Marvel Studios), Disney brought home 37 Emmy Awards.
A Big Night For ‘The Bear’
The big winner of the night was Hulu’s The Bear.
In addition to numerous individual awards won by Christopher Storer, Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ayo Edebiri, The Bear also took home the coveted Outstanding Comedy Series award.
In total, the series won 10 Emmy Awards.
Reality Show Winners
Another big winner last night was Welcome to Wrexham.
The Ryan Reynolds vehicle brought home the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program in addition to four other awards.
Speaking of reality series, Dancing with the Stars brought home three more Emmys, including an Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming award for Derk Hough.
Elton John Achieves EGOT Status
Finally, Elton John achieved EGOT status last night when his Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium DIsney+ special won three awards, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
With his three wins last night, Elton John became only the 19th person to receive an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. For good measure, he was also named a Disney Legend in 2006.
Other Disney Winners
Other Disney properties to take home at least one Emmy Award last night included Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration (2), The Mandalorian (1), Ms. Marvel (1), The Simpsons (2), Only Murders in the Building (1), Jeopardy!
