Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Now Closed for Refurbishment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
An iconic attraction has hit the breaks over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, closing to guests for a lengthy refurbishment in the park.
Keep reading for all you need to know about the update, and what it’ll mean for your next park visit!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Yep, we’re over here on Sunset Boulevard this morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the classic Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith attraction is currently off-limits to guests.
As previously reported right here on MickeyBlog, this attraction was scheduled to close to guests from today — January 8th — for a long period of refurbishment.
However, that doesn’t mean it’s all quiet over here in this corner of the park, so let’s take a deeper stroll into the attraction’s area to see what’s going on!
“Not Operational”
As we walk towards the tucked-away area that houses the iconic coaster attraction, we can see a friendly Cast Member stationed to re-direct guests.
He’s stood next to a bold A-frame sign bearing the ride’s logo, advising us that it is “not operational at this time.”
Following the path around, we can see that further boards have been placed at the attraction’s queue entrance, along with more smiling Cast Members on hand to answer any queries.
As you can see from the photos, the entrance barriers have been blocked off, and the Lightning Lane board isn’t showing any numbers. Oh no!
However, it’s worth noting that the neighboring Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is still operating as normal, which is why this plaza remains open to guests during Rock ‘n’ Roller’s closure.
To access the Cars-inspired attraction, guests can simply walk past the coaster, following updated signage on those A-frame boards.
According to the Walt Disney World website, Rock ‘n’ Roller is closed due to “routine refurbishment” work.
This implies that no major changes will be made to the ride, just the necessary safety and upkeep measures!
The ride is scheduled to be made accessible to guests once more in summer this year.
So, it looks like it’ll be a few months wait until we can blast off with Aerosmith again!
In the meantime, guests can still enjoy plenty of other thrilling attractions here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the nearby Tower of Terror.
As always, be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com as we’ll be keeping a close eye on progress over at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, as well as sharing all the latest news on ride closures and more across Walt Disney World!
