‘Frozen’ Producer Believes the Upcoming Films Will Be “Amazing”
A decade after audiences were first introduced to Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, Frozen continues to be one of Disney’s most popular franchises.
The first Frozen film was a global sensation, winning audiences’ hearts with its characters, story, and animation.

Frozen 2 built on the first film’s success to become one of the most successful films in the Disney animated canon. Released in 2019, the film earned an astounding $1.45 billion at the box office.
Two More Frozen Films Are on the Way
Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger made the exciting announcement that not one but two Frozen sequels were currently in development.
While fans were obviously excited by the news, some wondered why Disney was choosing to reveal that Frozen 4 was in the works before Frozen 3 even hit theaters.

Later, Frozen director Jennifer Lee revealed that the next Frozen story “may not fit into one film.”
Peter Del Vecho Chimes In
Although we don’t know much about the upcoming Frozen 3, Peter Del Vecho, who produced the first two Frozen films, says that expectations should be high.

“Look, we only do sequels if we believe there’s enough story to tell. They’re working on it up in development, I’m focused on ‘Wish’. But it is exciting what they’re working on. I will say anything that you read about it in public; we haven’t said anything about it. So it’s all conjecture, but I trust that it’s going to be amazing.”
Del Vecho’s comments echo Lee’s own comments.
The Frozen director has previously teased that the upcoming sequels will have “a lot of story to tell with the direction that the movie’s headed” and that the team is “really excited about where they’re going.”

While we do not yet have a release date for Frozen 3, by the looks of things, the film will hit theaters in 2025.
