BREAKING: Monorail Stuck on EPCOT Track at Disney World
Breaking news, MickeyBlog friends! We are getting early reports that the monorail, an iconic form of Disney transportation, has stopped and is now stuck on the tracks at Disney World.
Read on for details.
Monorail Stuck at Disney World
One Disney monorail train has reportedly experienced some technical difficulties and has stopped on the EPCOT track.
According to Fox 35 News, as of 10AM on October 31st, “Emergency crews with the Reedy Creek Fire Department and Orange County Fire Rescue have responded to the scene. At this time, it’s unknown whether anyone was injured or what caused the monorail to stall.”
Fox 35 later included an update thanks to Kris Lenk, a passenger on the monorail. Lenk told Fox 35 News that “he could smell the burning rubber and a bit of smoke.”
Lenk continued, “There was a loud bang explosion, and then we kind of saw a big flash of light. After that, the monorail slowed down.”
It is not uncommon for the monorails to experience pauses or delays, but it is not often that emergency crews are called to the scene.
A Disney spokesperson told Fox 35 News that the monorail stop was due to a flat tire, which occurred near the EPCOT parking lot toll plaza. No one was harmed, and everyone was safely evacuated.
Landon McReynolds for News 6 WKMG posted on X that the evacuation took 1 hour and 20 minutes. 71 people in total were evacuated.
