October 19th was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the opening of an EPCOT Center pavilion, the release of a 3D Halloween movie, and the arrival of FASTPASS to a Magic Kingdom attraction. So, let’s get started!
The Story of the Silly Symphony Airs (1955)
On this day in 1955, the Disneyland television series aired The Story of the Silly Symphony.
In the episode, Walt looked back a the early SIlly Symphony cartoons from the 1930s.
The Wonders of Life Opens (1989)
On this day in 1989, the Wonders of Life pavilion opened at EPCOT Center.
Sponsored by MetLife, the new EPCOT Center pavilion featured the popular Budy Wars and Cranium Command attractions as well as the short films Goofy About Health and the Making of Me.
FASTPASS Comes to the Haunted Manion (2000)
On this day in 2000, the FASTPASS system came to the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World.
Disney’s FASTPASS system allowed guests to reserve a time to ride an attraction and skip the standby line.
The Nightmare Before Christmas Premiers in 3D (2006)
On this day in 2006, The Nightmare Before Christmas premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Disney Digital 3D.
The film would be generally released the following day.
The Last Warrior Released (2017)
On this day in 2017, The Last Warrior was released.
The film was produced by The Walt Disney Company CIS, the Russian subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
