New Signs and Coffee Bags Appear Inside Living With The Land in EPCOT
When I first took my wife to EPCOT, I tried to explain to her what some of the attractions would entail. From the wonder of Frozen Ever After to the sheer fun of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, I think I did a good job of properly setting her expectations for each attraction we were about to visit. Or at least I was doing a good job until we got to The Land.
You see, once inside The Land pavilion, we headed straight for Soarin’ Around the World. After giving her a general idea of what to expect, we soared high over some of the wonders of the world. Everyone had a great time.
After getting off Soarin’, however, I gleefully explained that we were about to go on my favorite EPCOT attraction — Living with the Land.
There is nothing I like more in all of Walt Disney World than the leisurely boat ride through The Land pavilion’s greenhouses. As it turns out, however, I may have ever so slightly overhyped the attraction.
After we made our way through the planet’s ecosystems and saw the cutting-edge technology of the greenhouses, my wife was more bemused than thrilled. You can’t win them all.
New Additions to Living With the Land
I tell you this story so that you will better understand my love of Living with the Land.
Because of how much I adore this EPCOT Center original attraction, I can’t help but get excited when Disney improves the ride, no matter how small those changes may be.
Today, for example, when riding Living with the Land, we spotted a new “Biotechnology Lab” sign!
Located inside the greenhouse, this sign draws guests’ attention to the labs where scientists from Disney and the USDA Agricultural Research Service are working together to improve growing methods.
My favorite part of the sign, however, is that it prominently features The Land pavilion’s icon! I am so happy that EPCOT is using pavilion-specific icons again.
Land Coffe Co?!
If that wasn’t exciting enough, Disney has also added a new coffee vignette to the greenhouse.
Here, you can spot coffee bags that read “The Land Coffee Co.”
The bags also have “EC100182” written on them. This is a clear reference to October 1, 1982, the day that EPCOT officially opened!
While most people may not notice, or care, about these new details, I am thrilled that Disney is giving Living with the Land attention, and I can’t wait to point out these new additions on my next trip through the ride.
