With Their 100th Anniversary Just Weeks Away, Disney is Promising a Big October
The Disney100 Celebration is getting ready to kick into full gear this October, as The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100th anniversary on October 16.
As Disney gears up for the big moment, the company is taking a moment to highlight some of the big happenings this month.
Disney+ Is Highlighting The Company’s Stories
For example, Disney+ will be getting a new logo acknowledging the company’s 100th anniversary, as well as a special collection of films and series from throughout the decades.
Spanning all the way from the debut of Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie through more recent hits such as Encanto and Elemental, Disney is highlighting the company’s 100 years of storytelling.
‘Once Upon a Studio’ To Debut on ABC
As a die-hard Disney fan, I personally cannot wait for the debut of Disney’s Once Upon a Studio.
The upcoming short will bring together characters from Disney’s unparalleled cache of animated films. In total, the shop features 543 characters from more than 85 feature-length and short films.
The new cartoon will make its broadcast debut on Sunday, October 15, as part of ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration!
Two Disney Classics Return to Theaters
Last but not least, Disney is re-releasing two of its most popular animated films in theaters this month. Both The Lion King and Moana will return to the box office for special engagements. The Lion King will run from September 29 to October 12, while Moana will stay in theaters from October 13 through the 26th.
Disney is promising that the Disney100 celebration this October will be “unlike any party” Disney has held before. I for one, can’t wait to see what the company has cooked up.
