Destination D23 Has Kicked Off — Check Out Day 1!
The ultimate Disney fan event has taken over Walt Disney World Resort!
Of course, we’re talking about Destination D23! Disney’s long-awaited event is officially underway at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and we’re here bringing you everything this weekend has to offer. So kick back, relax, and come experience the first day of Destination D23 with us!
Day 1
The first day of Destination D23 is much slower than the rest of the weekend. That’s because the highly-anticipated panels won’t take place until Saturday and Sunday — with Saturday’s “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” being the panel most fans are looking forward to.
Today was all about getting our bearings. Luckily, there are plenty of signs to point you in the right direction.
We found the General Seating Entrance for the Fantasia Ballroom…
…as well as the Preferred Seating Entrance. (They’re hard to miss, thanks to these huge displays!)
Along with figuring out the layout of this year’s Destination D23, we also grabbed our swag bag and checked out some of day one’s offerings!
Swag Bag
The swag bag was packed! We definitely weren’t expecting to get all of this stuff — take a look!
We got a trick-or-treat bag, a Disney Visa Card hat…
…Tapple, discount codes, goodies from Joffrey’s, Marvel toys…
… Disney’s new trading card game, Lorcana…
…and even a Disney Cruise Line MagicBand+! The band features a Disney cruise ship with the Disney Cruise Line logo displayed on the band’s tappable icon.
And we can’t forget the Lug bag all of the swag came in!
Photo Ops
If you’re hoping to take a photo at this weekend’s event, you’re in luck. You can take pictures with tons of Disney characters, like Dumbo…
…Judy Hopps…
…Baymax…
…Oswald…
…the Genie…
…and of course — Mickey!
Marvel fans can strike a heroic pose next to Captain America’s shield.
Some of the more detailed photo ops are themed after The Lion King…
…Finding Nemo…
…Fantasia…
…Alice in Wonderland…
…Hercules…
…Mulan…
…and Frozen!
You can also take a picture with Donald Duck…
…Han Solo (frozen in carbonite)…
…and Figment!
MickeyBlogger Greg also took pictures in front of the Destination D23 logo backdrop…
…as well as the Destination D23 animation backdrop.
Other backdrops include this Mulan backdrop…
…and this Lilo and Stitch backdrop!
There’s also a LEGO Walt Disney Tribute camera you can pose with!
And you guys have to check out shopDisney’s plush mountain! This thing is huge and made up entirely of Disney plushes…
…that you can also choose to take a photo with — which MickeyBlogger Greg did!
Shogun Interactive Kiosk
Hulu’s new series, Shogun, also had an interactive kiosk at the event.
When you put your hands on the rail, you turn into a Shogun in the reflection.
We’re so excited to experience the rest of the weekend! And make sure you follow along at MickeyBlog.com, because we’ll be bringing you with us!
