Puppy Love Released (1933)
On this day in 1933, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Puppy Love was released.
In the cartoon, Mickey and Pluto call on Minnie and Fifi.
All in a Nutshell Released (1949)
On this day in 1949, the Donald Duck short All in a Nutshell was released.
In the cartoon, Chip ‘n’ Dale invade Donald’s Nut Butter stand.
Beezy Bear Released (1955)
On this day in 1955, the Disney short Beezy Bear was released.
The cartoon featured Humphrey the Bear, who tries to steal bee-keeper Donald’s honey.
How to Have an Accident at Work Released (1959)
On this day in 1959, the Donald Duck short How to Have an Accident at Work was released.
In the cartoon, Donald is Mr. Careful at home but becomes the accident-prone J.J. Fate at work.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Opens (1979)
On this day in 1979, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opened in Disneyland’s Frontierland.
The “wildest ride in the wilderness” takes guests careening through dark caverns and abandoned mines.
Adventure Thru Inner Space Closes (1985)
On this day in 1985, the Disneyland attraction Adventure Thru Inner Space closed.
The attraction had been open in Tomorrowland since August 1967.
Disney Premieres Hungry Hobos (2012)
On this day in 2012, Walt Disney Animation Studios debuted a newly restored print of Hungry Hobos.
The 1928 Oswald the Lucky Rabbit animated short was previously thought to be lost.
The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic Airs (2014)
On this day in 2014, the television special The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic aired.
The program told the story of how Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film Frozen.
Disney Junior- Live on Stage! Opens (2018)
On this day in 2018, Disney Junior- Live on Stage! closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Prior to 2011, the attraction had been known as Playhouse Disney- Live on Stage!
Disneyland Forever Performed For the Final Time (2019)
Finally, on this day in 2019, Disneyland Forever ran for the final time.
The nighttime spectacular originally ran from May 2015 until September 2016. The show returned in June 2018.
