Gideon’s Likely To Remain Closed Today Due to AC Issues
Beloved Disney Springs shop Gideon’s Bakehouse will likely remain closed today due to ongoing problems with the Bakehouse’s air conditioning unit. Yesterday we shared the news that Gideon’s took to social media to announce that they would be closing their Disney Springs location because the air conditioning wasn’t working. With high temperatures in Orlando, the lack of air conditioning made for a not-so-comfortable experience for employees and guests.
Today, it looks like the problems over at Gideon’s are continuing with the shop sharing some additional details on social media. Below is an update:
As you can see from the Instagram story above, Gideon’s had temporary AC units installed while they waited for a part for the shop’s original air conditioning unit. However, the units failed to keep the shop cool with temperatures upwards of 100 degrees. With this in mind, the decision was made to keep the Disney Springs shop closed.
Gideon’s was hoping to get a replacement part for the broken air conditioning. However, they were informed that the necessary part would not be available until the end of September. With this in mind, the shop is making plans to install a new air conditioning unit. This will obviously take some time.
In the statement released last night, the business was hoping to have the new unit installed today (September 1st.) This is a story that we’ll be following closely. We promise to keep you posted on any further updates. We are sending well wishes to Gideon’s Bakehouse for a speedy return!
