Add A Spark of Imagination To Your Tea Time With This Figment Cup and Saucer
While the Journey Into Imagination attraction may be a far cry from the EPCOT classic that it once was, Figment is still the undisputed king of EPCOT.
Looking at the park now, it is crazy to think that 24 years ago Disney tried to eliminate the little purple dragon from the park, and the Friends of Figment had to band together to demand his return.
These days, Figment is an omnipresent figure in EPCOT, appearing in festival merchandise, ephemera, and even in topiary form throughout the park.
Recently, Disney has started to release more and more Journey Into Imagination merchandise! Today, for example, we came across a new Figment cup with a saucer that any Disney fan would love to have.

This new cup and saucer set features everyone’s favorite little purple dragon thinking up his next great idea.
Figment is posing inside a gear that reads, “There’s a great big beautiful idea,” in a design that is a clear reference to the Carousel of Progress!
Above Figment, a lightbulb is going off. This is not only a spark of imagination from Figment, but also a subtle reference to the Imagination Institute logo!
Finally, I should mention that behind the dragon, a series of abstract shapes can be found. All in all, this is a really fun design!
Moving on, let’s talk about the saucer. The lip of the saucer once again has the lightbulb logo that has become synonymous with the Imagination Institute. Additionally, the little plate reads “Imagination.”
