August 11th was a slower day in Disney’s history but it featured the release of a controversal Mickey cartoon, a Destination D event, and the release of a new Marvel animated series. So, let’s get started!

Orphan’s Benefit Released (1934)
On this day in 1934, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Orphan’s Benefit was released.

In the cartoon, Mickey and his friends put on a benefit show for a group of unruly orphans. The short is also notable for being the first appearance of Clara Cluck, and the first time Donald Duck appeared with Mickey.
El Grupo Leaves California (1941)
On this day in 1941, Walt Disney, his wife Lillian, and a group of artists later known as “El Grupo” left California on a goodwill tour of South America.

Runaway Brain Released (1995)
On this day in 1995, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Runaway Brain was released alongside A Kid in King Arthur’s Court.

On this day in 2012, Destination D: 75 Years of Animated Features was held at the Disneyland Hotel.
Hosted by D23, the event featured appearances by people who have created, voiced, or modeled for some of Disney’s greatest animated films.\
Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Premieres (2013)
On this day in 2013, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. premiered on Disney XD.
