This Day in Disney History- June 3

June 3rd featured the loss of a Disney Legend, the debut of an updated Disneyland attraction, and the release of an underrated Disney animated film. So, let’s get started!
Winter Storage Released (1949)
On this day in 1949, the Donald Duck cartoon Winter Strorage was released.

The Puffin Bakery Closes (1960)
On this day in 1960, the Puffin Bakery closed in Disneyland.

Donn Tatum Retires (1980)
On this day in 1980, Donn Tatum retired as chairman and chief executive officer of Walt Disney Productions.

Bistro de Paris Opens (1984)
On this day in 1984, Bistro de Paris opened in the EPCOT Center’s France pavilion.

Looking for Miracles Airs (1989)
On this day in 1989, the Disney Channel film Looking for Miracles aired.

The film was based on a best-selling memoir by E.E. Hotchner.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire Premieres (2001)
On this day in 2001, Atlantis: The Lost Empire premiered at the El Capitan Theatre.
The film told the story of a young linguist named Milo who comes into possession of a sacred book that he believes will guide him to the mythical city of Atlantis.
Star Wars- The Adventure Continues Opens (2011)
On this day in 2011, Disneyland debuted Star Wars- The Adventure Continue.
The updated version of Star Tours featured new destinations and a randomized story.
Wally Boag Passes Away (2011)
Also on this day in 2011, Disney Legend Wally Boag passed away.

As Pecos Bill, Boag was a star of Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe Revue. He also voiced Jose in the Enchanted Tiki Room.
Billy Dilley’s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer Debuts (2017)
On this day in 2017, Billy Dilley”s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer debuted on Disney XD.

The animated series followed the adventures of Billy Dilley and his lab partners who get stuck in a bizarre magical world beneath the earth’s surface.
