August 8th was a slower day in Disney history, but it featured the release a Toy Story spin-off, the debut of four new entertainment offerings at the Magic Kingdom, and the premiere of a Disney live-action remake. So, let’s get started!

On this day in 1952, Disney’s The Little House was released.
The cartoon was an adaptation of Virginia Lee Burton’s story of the same name. It was narrated by Sterling Holloway.
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins Released (2000)
On this day in 2000, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins was released.
The film was an animated spin-off of the popular Toy Story franchise.
Four New Entertainment Offerings Debut at the Magic Kingdom (2000)
Also on this day in 2000, four new entertainment offerings debuted at the Magic Kingdom.
The Main Street Philharmonic, The Tomorrowland Blast, The Fantasyland Woodwinds Society, and The Notorious Banjo Brothers and Bob all performed for the first time at the park.
The Hundred-Foot Journey Released (2014)
On this day in 2014, The Hundred-Foot Journey was released.
The film told the story about a battle between two restaurants in a village.
Pete’s Dragon Premieres (2016)
On this day in 2016. Pete’s Dragon premiered at the El Capitan Theatre.
The live-action remake would be released on August 12, 2016.
