Why There’s a Weird Sticker in Our EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Passport
One of the best souvenirs of an EPCOT festival is the Festival Passport, which is free and includes everything you need to know about the current festival.
Normally, a Festival Passport is available all over EPCOT, but when we visited the park on the first day of the 2023 Food & Wine Festival, there were no passports available outside of the World Showcase, which doesn’t open until 11AM.
A Cast Member told us that the passports would solely be available in the World Showcase until Monday, at which time they would be more widely distributed. This was unusual and surprising to us, but I think we’ve figured out why.
Festival Passport Sticker
While we were flipping through the 2023 Food & Wine Festival Passport, we noticed something odd. If you look at the photo below, note the difference between the page on the left and the page on the right.
Yes, it’s a sticker that was placed over Refreshment Port’s menu. But why would Disney do that?
Well, we peeled the sticker off (badly, but to our credit this sticker was heavy duty!) to reveal the Cinnamon-Sugar Beaver Tail on Refreshment Port’s menu.
Ah, it all makes sense now. Recently, we reported that Disney had removed the Cinnamon-Sugar Beaver Tail from Refreshment Port’s menu online, and they must not have had the time to reprint new Festival Passports.
If you visit the Food & Wine Festival before Monday, you may have to wait until the World Showcase opens at 11AM to get your passport containing a sticker. Otherwise, you might want to wait until Monday to grab yours.
