The Good, The Bad, & The ‘Meh’ at Flavors of America for EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival
Happy first day of EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, everyone! We’re here at the festival checking out EVERYTHING it has to offer.
There are all kinds of new foods, merchandise, and music to get excited about. For now, we’re going to focus on the food — specifically the new items over at the Flavors of America booth in the American Adventure Pavilion!
Flavors of America
The booth in the American Adventure pavilion has been renamed from Hops & Barley to Flavors of America!
There are a bunch of new food items over at Flavors of America, as well as a returning favorite. The menu focuses on some dishes that represent different areas of America.
Let’s get to the food!
First, we got the new Italian Hot Beef Sandwich for $6.25. This has shaved beef, spicy giardiniera, and au jus on a French roll.
The flavors of the Italian beef were really tasty — we enjoyed it!
However, the au jus was VERY salty! It was pretty overpowering. Make sure you have a drink on hand.
Next, we got the new Cioppino for $7.50. This is a seafood stew with saffron-infused tomato-fennel broth and crostini.
This was basically a hot tomato soup, which isn’t really the first or fifth or 50th thing we’d want on a sweltering summer day in July! This will probably be better when it gets cooler.
The broth was also pretty watered down and didn’t have a ton of flavor. The seafood was cooked well but it didn’t seem to be super fresh and there wasn’t much flavor there either.
Another new dish on the menu is the Chilaquiles for $6.75. This has corn tortilla chips tossed in salsa verde with ranchero chicken, queso fresco, cilantro-lime crema, and a soft-poached egg.
The chicken was delicious and had a ton of flavor! The egg also goes with this really well, but we do think it was a bit underseasoned.
However, we loved the tortilla chips with this as it added some great texture! We’d recommend this dish if you enjoy those flavors.
Finally, you can get the returning Freshly Baked Carrot Cake here for $4.50! This comes with walnuts and cream cheese icing.
As usual, this is fantastic! MickeyBlogger Miranda said this is the best item she’s had all day! It was soft on the inside and had a crunchy exterior with a TON of icing to make this a delicious sweet treat.
Here’s a look at everything again.

As for the drinks, there are three different beers that you can get over here and they’ve all been at the festival before. You can get a 6 oz. pour for $5.50 and a 12 oz. pour for $9.50, or get a flight of all three beers for $10.
Your options are the Rogue Dreamland American Lager, Goose Island Beer Co. Neon Beer Hug, and Left Hand Brewing Sawtooth Amber Ale.
