Trail’s End and Crockett’s Tavern at Fort Wilderness Debut New Look and New Menu
There are some exciting changes happening at Fort Wilderness when it comes to the popular eatery Trail’s End Restaurant and neighboring watering hole Crockett’s Tavern. Both locations have now reopened with brand-new menu items and new interiors. Let’s take a closer look at these updates.
Trail’s End Debuts New Look
Both Fort Wilderness Resort dining locations will have a fresh, new look that highlights the quaint feel of the resort while honoring the heritage of Disney World’s beloved campground! Trail’s End now features warm wooden furnishings, beamed ceilings, and rustic accents.
New Trail’s End Menu
Trail’s End has been reimagined as a quick-service restaurant filled with tasty items to fill your belly. You’ll find everything on the menu from family-sized entrees and sides (perfect for bringing back to your cabin or campsite) or individual-sized entrees to feast on inside the restaurant’s casual seating area.
A highlight of the new menu is an on-stage pizza station where guests can pick up a slice or the entire pie. Noteworthy pies include a smokehouse-style pizza topped with house-smoked brisket, sausage, pepperoni, and a delicious roasted vegetable pie. And of course, you’ll find the classic pepperoni and cheese are still available.
Also on the menu are Market-style Selections. The Hot Grab and Go section features dishes like pecan-smoked whole chicken or brisket, a rack of pork ribs, and other dishes perfect for taking back to your campsite. No Fort Wilderness menu would be complete without fried chicken. You’ll also find plentiful sides including macaroni & cheese, plant-based cowboy beans, and mashed potatoes.
At Trails End and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, you’ll also want to be on the lookout for menu classics like cheeseburgers, plant-based vegetable burgers, chicken nuggets, and french fries. Homestyle Meals feature cornbread, coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. You can also pick your choice between a slab of barbecued ribs or two pieces of fried chicken. You can also treat yourself to hand-scooped ice cream and specialty coffees including the Wilderness Latte featuring flavors of chocolate and hazelnut!
Happy campers can also pick up some new Chicken Wrap featuring a new house-made blueberry BBQ sauce or the fan-favorite Pioneer Berry Salad.
Now it’s time to talk about my favorite…DESSERT! The pastry team is resurrecting old favorites including Banana Pudding, Carrot Cake Cupcake, Blueberry Bread Pudding, and the legendary Strawberry Shortcake from Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Each of these goodies will be available in a single-serve portion. Those on a plant-based Lemon-Blueberry Trifle are filled with layers of lemon curd, fresh blueberries, and whipped cream.
The pastry team has also created some new treats that you’ll definitely want to try including the Fort Fruity Cookie featuring fruity cereal and white chocolate chips. There’s also the Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcake. It also wouldn’t be a camping trip without S’mores. That’s why you’ll find both a S’mores Cupcake and S’mores Cookie.
Crockett’s Tavern Gets a New Look
Over at the neighboring Crockett’s Tavern, you’ll find a refreshed lounge with expanded indoor and outdoor seating areas. The outside seating area offers picturesque views of Bay Lake.
Refreshed Menu at Crockett’s Tavern
The menu at Crockett’s Tavern has been refreshed with elevated lounge-style snacks as well as an array of new and returning beverages and specialty cocktails.
Crockett’s Tavern will also continue to have its to-go window for those looking to get their drinks and delectable dishes on the go! One of the highlights includes a Trio of Sliders. The dish includes a pulled pork slide with BBQ sauce and coleslaw, a brisket slider with Carolina BBQ and pickled onions, and a buffalo chicken slider with house-made blue cheese dressing and dill pickles. The dish is served with seasoned french fries.
Another noteworthy dish is the Chicken Bites. You can pick your favorite sauce to go with the bites with options including buffalo, garlic-parmesan, or blueberry BBQ. These bites are served with celery, house-made ranch, blue cheese, and seasoned french fries. We know that the new Blueberry BBQ sauce was developed by Chef Julie Hrywnak and the culinary team.
There’s also a can’t-miss Charcuterie Board featuring a selection of meats and cheeses with house-made bread and butter pickles, tomato jam, cornbread crostini, and sesame lavash.
The new menu has some fantastic plant-based offerings including Crispy Cauliflower with garlic aioli. There are also plant-based fried green tomato sliders, featuring a southern remoulade and citrus greens served with seasoned french fries.
Campers will definitely want to be saving room for the Trailblazin’ Dessert Trio. This signature dish features a s’more with chocolate pudding, graham cracker crumbs, and house-made marshmallow, a strawberry shortcake with strawberries and whipped cream. Rounding out the selection is a banana pudding with vanilla wafers, whipped cream, and a banana clip.
At Crockett’s Tavern, you’ll also find those looking for an adult beverage to accompany their meal. Crockett’s Tavern has multiple options which pay homage to the resort’s 50-year history. Inspired by the Fort Wilderness Railroad, you’ll find the All Aboard! Moonshine Cocktail Flight featuring Gullywhumper, Blackberry Lightning, and Spiced Appleberry Shine.
Speaking of cocktails, there’s also the Bear-y Buckle which combines Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, pure cane sugar, lemon juice bitters, Fever-tree Ginger Beer, and muddled blackberries for a touch of sweetness in a cocktail.
Guests can also try America’s very first spirit – Laird’s Applejack Brandy, which you’ll find in the Camper’s Coupe. The drink features Laird’s Applejack Brandy, orange and lemon juices, and a hint of maple syrup. Another classic the Meadows Cup features Pimm’s No. 1 Liqueuer Cup, Hendrick’s Gin, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and strawberry.
Fans of an old-fashioned will love the rotating selection of old-fashioned cocktails to whet your whistle. this includes the Clementine Old Fashioned made with Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Hella Cocktail Co., Orange Bitters, and cane syrup garnished with a clementine wheel and Luxardo cherry.
Tequila fans should definitely sample the Quail Trail Paloma which features Teremana Blanco Tequila with Halla Cocktail Co, Smoked Chili Bitters, grapefruit soda, and a chili-lime rim. There’s also the Moonshine Margarita made with Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ Moonshine, Triple Sec Liqueur, sweet-and-sour-mix, and lime juice.
