Man, 44, Collapses and Dies After Riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Tragedy struck the Happiest Place on Earth in late May when a 44-year-old man collapsed and later died after riding the Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
According to the state report released this week, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s office said that the cause of death for the man has not yet been reported.
Following the wishes of the deceased’s wife, the man will not be identified by us.
A Tragic Story
According to 911 calls released by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, the man fell to the ground and had a seizure at the exit of the Frontierland attraction.
A woman who appeared to be a Thunder Mountain Cast Member said a doctor was on the scene. They performed CPR on the man and paramedics then arrived soon afterward.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services noted that the man “passed away from a personal illness.”
While we here at MickeyBlog will not identify the deceased, Florida Politics reports that in the man’s obituary, “he was remembered as a dutiful husband and father of three young boys. He was a compassionate physician who was attentive with his patients and had a good bedside manner.”
Our condolences go out to the man’s family and loved ones.
