NEW DETAILS Revealed for San Fransokyo At Disney California Adventure
We’ve got some exciting news out of Disneyland Resort! The San Fransokyo neighborhood at Disney California Adventure (formerly Pacific Wharf) is really coming together! The new San Fransokyo area draws its inspiration from Big Hero 6 which is set in a fictional world that is a hybrid between San Francisco and Tokyo. Disney just shared that the local eateries will start to introduce some of the delectable San Fransokyo dishes starting mid-July!
San Fransokyo selections will be available at Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Port of San Fransokyo Cerveceria! In addition, additional dining options and unique shopping experiences will be available later this Summer.
Once open, San Fransokyo businesses from the Cappuccino Cart to the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge will feature colorful street art and banners that pay homage to Big Hero 6.
Noteworthy San Fransokyo locations will include the following:
- Hamada Bot Shop – This is where our friends from Big Hero 6 create and build their high-tech gear.
- San Fransokyo Maker’s Market – A storefront jam-packed with unique apparel, homewares, and more. Items will feature Baymax and friends! In a neat touch, the market shelves will be on robot storage cases and visitors will be able to check out the decommissioned battle bots on display. Be sure to look overhead where you’re here to check out Hiro’s Megabot!
- Vending Machine – Just across from Maker’s Market you’ll find a special vending machine that sells golden medallions that feature Baymax and other iconic San Fransokyo images.
- Aunt Cass Cafe – This bakery cafe is operated by Hiro’s loving aunt. Here you’ll be able to find a menu inspired by Japanese cuisine including soups in Boudin sourdough bread bowls and more! The exterior of the eatery will feature a mural of Aunt Cass’ pet cat Mochi.
- Rita’s Turbine Blenders – Opened in what used to be a fishing net tannery, a giant drink dispense that offers delicious margaritas and other icy beverages. This refreshment stand is owned and operated by a repair technician that owns a floating wind turbine that looks like a giant koi fish! You’ll notice it on the roof!
In addition to the new eateries outlined above existing eateries including Cocina Cucamonga and Ghirardelli Soda Fountain will be adding new San Fransokyo items to their menus!
