“Obi-Wan Kenobi” Star Wants a Young Leia Spin-Off
While Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has continued to state that there will not be a season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi, series star Vivien Lyra Blair is hoping for a spin-off.
The 11-year-old actresses, who portrayed a young Princess Leia in the limited series, would like to continue to her character’s story.
“We’re kind of hoping for my own show there,” she said. “We’re kind of thinking it could be fun to do a show of Leia on Alderaan. And I really hope something like that could work out.”
Blair Would Not Return For A Season 2
While Blair enjoyed her time on Obi-Wan Kenobi, if the show were to continue for a second season, she doesn’t think her character could return.
“I would love to, but I was saying like, I don’t see how I would fit into it,” she said. “Because it’s very implied that she doesn’t see him again until she asked for help in the fourth movie, A New Hope. And so, I think it’s kind of like, how would I fit into that?”
While Blair would likely not be involved in a second season of “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, the young actress did reveal that Ewan McGregor would love to continue the story.
“A lot of people are asking me, ‘Will we get a second season of Obi-Wan?’ ” she said. “And I honestly, I think it’s very much a possibility because Ewan [McGregor] is just begging to do another one. He’s really excited.”
At the moment, Obi-Wan Kenobi is “not in active development”. Hopefully however we have not seen the last of the Jedi Knight and the young princess.
