Today is a special day in Disneyland history! Do you know why?

Two years ago today, Disneyland reopened to the public, post-pandemic. While the Resort welcomed back Californians on April 30, 2021, those outside the state couldn’t visit until June 15, 2021.

MickeyBlog was first in line to witness the mayhem! We tweeted, “At Disneyland and it’s like March 1, 2020. No masks, no physical distancing and jam packed for rope drop at Adventureland!”
It was an exciting time, to say the least. Avengers Campus had just opened in Disney California Adventure, with its premiere on June 4, 2021.

Disneyland shared the happy news that May. Disney Parks Blog reported, “Today, we’re pleased to announce that beginning June 15, 2021, we will once again be able to welcome travelers from outside the state of California back to our theme parks! Out-of-state visitors may now begin booking their return to the parks on Disneyland.com. Until June 15, all guests visiting the Disneyland Resort must be California residents visiting in groups no larger than 3 households.”
Does it seem like a long time ago to you? It does to me!

It was shocking to see the Happiest Place on Earth close for such a long duration. Disneyland shut its gates for over a year.

Does Disneyland’s closure seem like a long time ago or like just yesterday? One thing’s for sure, we are beyond ecstatic to see the Parks alive and thriving again!
