Mickey’s Toontown Undergoing Maintenance Through July
A reimagined area of Disneyland reopened just a few, short months ago, after a year’s closure. There are still some kinks to work out, as Mickey’s Toontown undergoes maintenance through July.
Mickey’s Toontown
Recently, we shared how Imagineering brought Mickey’s Toontown back to life. Although the original was charming, it was pretty quiet for the most part, with the potential to be even more magical!
In addition to sprucing up some of the attractions already available, a new ride and new experiences were implemented. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is now accompanied by two dining spots!
Guests can visit Cafe Daisy and Good Boy! Grocers for a satisfying snack. There’s also an open area for picnicking!
Goofy and Donald’s play areas were made even more colorful and fun, with interactive elements added. Guests that loved the old Toontown can still enjoy staples like Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin, Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster, Mickey and Minnie’s houses, and classic, interactive play areas.
Since its opening, as part of the Disney100 celebration, Guests have been flooding the area! If you’re planning a visit to Toontown soon, be advised that there is some construction underway.
Maintenance
Disney journalist Scott Gustin recently took to Twitter to share an update via Just Ask Danny. Gustin’s post reads, “Some areas in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park will be temporarily unavailable on a rolling basis through mid-July for maintenance work. Walls will go up/down as individual projects are addressed.”
According to Just Ask Danny, “Walls were removed from CenTOONial Park in Toontown, but have now moved to the park just outside Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin. We also heard rumors that they’ll also go up around the park in front of Mickey’s house. They are doing some leveling of the land section by section.”
Gustin expounded, “Different areas will close and reopen as they finish up some post-opening tweaks and projects.” It looks as if Disneyland will be focusing on small portions, bit by bit, as they address the work.
If you’re planning an upcoming trip to Disneyland, be advised that Mickey’s Toontown will be undergoing maintenance through July!
