Sports Analyst Pat McAfee Is Coming to ESPN
After months of speculation, Pat McAfee and his widely popular show are indeed moving to ESPN.
In what is expected to be a multimillion-dollar deal, McAfee will be joining the world’s premier sports network beginning this fall.

In the process, McAfee will walk away from his four-year, $120 million contract with FanDuel. He was just two years into the deal.
Where The Show Will Air
According to McAfee, his show will air on ESPN, ESPN+, and ESPN Youtube. The show will follow ‘Get Up’ and ‘First Take’ on ESPN.
McAfee stated that he would not agree to a deal if he wasn’t allowed to continue at YouTube, a prerequisite that may have limited the options he had.
Retaining Creative Control
Additionally, McAfee is expected to retain full creative control, be allowed to bring his crew with him and keep the show’s current format.
AJ Hawk, the Toxic Table, and Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays will all be coming with McAfee to his new home.

“We ain’t changing a damn thing,” McAfee said.
A New Version of ESPN?
While McAfee received four major offers, in the end, he chose ESPN.
The acquisition of McAfee’s brand may mark a significant change in ESPN. The network has largely been known for its straight-laced sports analyses and debate shows.

“The time has come for a bunch of sports stooges in a Thunderdome in Indiana to sprinkle in some fun.”
According to McAfee, in his negotiations with networks, he was constantly told that his show was perceived as the future of sports talk shows.

“Jimmy Pitaro and I have had incredible conversations about what ESPN can look like tomorrow, and how it doesn’t have to be what it looked like yesterday, or even today.”
A Bright Future
In the past, McAfee has talked about wanting to take some of the behind-the-scenes work off his plate, and the move to ESPN will certainly do that.
